These companies provide not only moving but also storing your things in a warehouse if needed.
For the purpose AMSA has an education foundation – The Moving & Storage Institute (MSI). It is the “philanthropic arm of the American Moving and Storage Association” and was created to provide education opportunities for people in the storage and moving industry, implement wider understanding of the shipment of household belongings and warehousing. Recently the MSI has expanded its activities in order to have a stronger impact on the people and companies like the National Association of Independent Truckers (NAIT). NAIT has a lot of functions one of which is to help the moving and warehouse industry function more efficiently and effectively.
Finding a ProMover
Today it is so easy for every moving company to promote itself by just creating a website and claiming that it is professional. In reality things look very different and not all of these websites offer information about real quality reliable movers. In order to ensure that every person has access to trustworthy moving companies with which they can trust their belongings AMSA has created the ProMover program. It certifies that each member has passed a background check and agrees to follow the Code of Ethics created by the Association. This means that your moving has an extra level of security added when you get in touch with quality movers.

The ProMover program lets you find a mover that has been checked in advance by the American Moving and Storage Association.
Have you Hired a Mover Already?
When searching for a moving company your first task is to get a quote. There are different types of estimates you can receive and you can find out more about them here. After that you can already begin to research the mover by checking its licensing and registrations.
If you don’t have a mover and you are still looking for one you can use the Mover Referral Service (MRS) to get a quote. The information that you fill in collected through it is emailed only to movers that the customer chooses. And the moving companies that take part in MRS agree to keep all profile information confidential which means that your privacy is guaranteed. You can get up to 6 free ProMovers in-house estimates. The majority of the ProMovers take part in this service, too.
