Research indicated this was a reputable, honest moving company. Do NOT believe it, my experience was a nightmare. The movers were experienced, but my self packed fragile items were destroyed during the move. My belongings were moved from one truck to the delivery truck, which is where the damage must have occurred. Jonathan took NO responsibility, and was extremely belligerent and rude when I reported my experience. Additionally, the driver arrived at my home ALONE and found a few local workers in my new development to help with the unpacking.
The movers used brown packing tape on all my wood furniture, which left an ugly residue. Almost every piece of wood had some damage. I took great care packing all my glassware and framed art pieces. The list of items destroyed is too long to list here. I also had to throw away two floor lamps which were were destroyed. The breakage was heartbreaking and because it was self packed they are absolved of any responsibility. I took a policy with Baker Intl., who seem reputable, and will try to repair the furniture, but I did not receive monetary compensation due to my $500. deductible. NOTE: KEEP ALL BROKEN GLASS for Baker's employees to document!! Anthem Claim Mgmt. handles Statewide's claim and their offer of compensation was $60.00. BEWARE OF STATEWIDE AND JONATHAN!!!!!!!!!!

In regards to this move , the customer insisted on packing their own house goods. WE recommended that we do the packing since our packers are professional packers and that we use the highest quality moving supplies in the industry. This customer packed her own goods with inferior packing supplies. She actually used liquor store boxes & supermarket boxes. My forman actually did not want to do the move after inspecting her goods and packing , but she said she had to be out of there and that we had to take everything the day of the pick up. And another thing is that we had 3 men at her pick up and delivery location that are our employees. We are not brokers, and we do all of the moves with our own employees who are fully bonded and insured. Many of her goods were damaged as a result of her inferior packing supplies. She did not even want to pay for extra packing for her lamps, which my forman requested. She only wrapped it in plain brown paper . We originally offered to ship her "OUR" PACKING SUPPLIES WHICH ARE OF THE HIGHEST STANDARDS IN THE INDUSTRY. She refused our request, just to save money on the supplies by getting her supplies for free.
This is just another good example of a customer who blames the moving company for their ignorance and shortcomings in properly preparing for a move.
