AMERICAN KNIGHTS MOVING STOLE MY ITEMS - Moving Review

Do not USE these movers. Statewide Van Lines is a Broker of some sort, and they don't actually handle the delivery. They broker out to other movers. I unfortunately got AMERICAN KNIGHTS MOVING & STORAGE INC. and when they picked up my items they tried to charge me extra because they said Lilly didn't include my stair count (3rd floor) on the quote. On delivery, they stated I would need to pay $420 extra because they had to walk extra feet to deliver to my apartment. I couldn't afford the extra cost and then they said $100.

I dealt with a Delivery driver at 214.995.7548 his cell phone and actually talked to him a few times the couple of days prior to delivery. It doesn't matter if you have a rapport with this SLEEZEBAG or not, he will still try to rip you off. I couldn't verify his name but it is either Doug, John or Scott (pretty sad he wouldn't tell me his name). He has a young guy who works with him, and this guy is a total jerk.

I gave the Delivery Driver the same form of certified funds that was given on pick-up and a check for the extra $100 he was charging (as I wasn't expecting it). He accepted these forms of payments and they started to unload, and then I walked away for a moment and came back and he started loading the truck again and told me he wasn't going to deliver my items because he needed CASH. I was baffled because I gave him the same method that was accepted on pick-up and certified funds. He said he didn't want the certified funds that I gave him and requested that I give him cash. It was 8:00 pm and there wasn't a possible way for me to get the amount of cash he was requesting at the late hour. At this point, I started to feel like he was being a SLEEZEBALL, so I called the cops for help. The cops weren't able to do anything, because they said it is a civil matter.

The bottom line is I never got my possessions. I asked the driver to work something out with me, instead of leaving with my stuff (I asked him to allow me time to get the cash, and he refused to). What a jerk! No compassion, just all about his pocket. Even the check for the extra money, he had me make out to his wife instead of a company name.

BE WARNED: Do not do business with these people. If possible, move your items yourself or sell them. You can't trust anyone with your personal possesions.

This was the worst experience in my life, because you have no control over these drivers being sleezy. You just have to take it.
