AVOID these scammers! Moving Central is TOXIC. My final price paid does NOT include damages, theft and costs I incurred finishing my own move.I accepted a quote. They showed up on moving day, moved everything I own to the front yard, then tried to DOUBLE the quote! They first refused to renegotiate, and were only willing to abide by the original quote when I canceled the contract. Suddenly they were "able to negotiate" when I told them to cancel the contract. When they arrived, I told them I thought the truck they sent was too small. Sure enough, they filled it up, then drove away, leaving about 12 boxes and several pieces of furniture unpacked. I had to ship the boxes to myself - which was very expensive. They agreed to send a second truck for the remaining furniture, but not until after I had already incurred a very large shipping bill with UPS.My Kindle Fire turned up "missing" after the men packing the truck had left my home. I know EXACTLY where I had left it, and, further, I searched my house after the truck left. It has not turned up.I was flat out lied to on several occasions. 1) I was told the truck was en-route, and someone would call me to give a delivery schedule. Five days later, I was told the truck hadn't left yet and was being loaded. 2) I was told by one person that her co-worker was on the phone at that moment with the delivery driver, and the co-worker would call me right back. The next day, I found out the co-worker had not even been in the office. 3) I was told that they had 10 business days in which to deliver my items. By one person's calculations, that included the first day. By another person's, that did NOT include the first day. I have not yet gotten my delivery, and they picked up my belongings 14 days ago (10 business days). I have called and left multiple messages. Phones are not answered, and calls are not returned. As far as I know, they've now stolen everything I own. They've made no attempt to schedule delivery at my new apartment. This moving experience was stressful enough without Moving Central compounding the stress with devious business practices, lies and unprofessional customer service.(Revised a week later) - They agreed to "compensate" me for being late with my belongings. Their idea of "compensation" is $15 a day - for business days only, after the 10th day. BUT! Then they decided there was this added "Delivery Charge" because my apartment was "Too Far" from the parking lot. (I later measured it. From the parking lot to my door was exactly 75 feet. They claimed it was over 300 and charged me over $200. I had to agree, or they wouldn't deliver!)They agreed that they would compensate me for the items I had to ship and for my stolen Kindle. They later came back and said they would NOT compensate me for postage costs, because I "chose to take other items." I have NO IDEA what this refers to, and once again, they aren't answering phone calls or emails. The items I had to ship were PACKED boxes that they drove off and LEFT in my driveway! Further - as I unpack, I'm discovering more and more broken and damaged items. They brought my Wardrobe box (the kind that has a rack for hanging clothes) and my large filing cabinet in upside down! They tossed down boxes labeled "Fragile." I watched them move my belongings into my apartment - all the while joking about me "owing them a beer: - with more and more horror. They were callous, unprofessional, and rude.RUN from this company!
