The movers arrived 4 hours late for the pick up in Connecticut on May 18, 2010. After signing a contract and providing a percentage of amount due, we received in writing that our items would be in our posession within 14 days. That was not the case.
First of all, I had an issue with the total asking price. I had been given a deal by Laura Greensberg for $3.33 per cubic foot. When the mover arrived to pick up the items I was charged $3.90 per cubic foot. I then contacted their executive representative, Lona. She agreed to abide by the original deal.
For 2 weeks I had no contact with the company. I then began to correspond with Laura Greensberg in regards to the whereabouts of our belongings. Laura said she had no idea and would get back to me as soon as possible. That never occurred.
I then had to write a letter threatening to contact the New Jersey State Police to report the theft of my belongings which totalled over $5000.00, making it a Federal offense.
Lona, once again, stepped in. She claimed she would be handling the matter from then on out.
The movers arrived at my home within a week. 3 boxes were missing, filled with antiques and extremely sentimental valued property. When I contacted the company I was told by David that Lona would no longer be speaking to me. He informed me that my belongings were in San Francisco with a client. I asked for them to be given to me. David said I would be receiving them within 2 weeks since the client left for Europe. I could not get MY Belongings until then.
In the process of the drop off of my other belongings, one of the movers by the name of Alex made an extremely gross pass at me. He began to say how California women were beautiful. I told him I knew that. He went on further stating, I don't think you know what I'm talking about. He was looking at me funny. Sexually. I told him I knew exactly what he was talking about and that he better watch himself or I was going to take care of him. He smiled and licked his lips, saying, I'd like that. And then stuck out his tongue, wiggling it around in a suggestive manner.
I reported all of these occurances to LONA, who to today has never responded.
