Damaged and Stolen Items! - Moving Review

Used A1A Coastal Moving for a Long Distance move from Florida to New Jersey. Was promised a delivery date but the truck did not show up. The moving company would not return our calls or give us a delivery day for over one week. We were left in a home with non of our furniture or personal belongings. When the truck arrived we were informed by the company that we needed to sign and confirm delivery before they would unload the truck. At the end of the day the foreman informed us that about 10% of our belongings had been removed from the truck and they were unsure of there current location - a total scam. It took several weeks of both myself, my family and the Palm Coast Police contacting the moving for the second truck to arrive. When it did it was found that there were several thousands dollars worth of indoor and outdoor furniture that was broken, a missing grill, and missing glass pieces for interior furniture. The delivery also included a drill that the foreman explained was stolen by one of the crew. When we inquired about about the damaged and missing items we were informed to just file a complaint with the company's insurance and everything would be taken care. We were also informed that one crew member had stolen the grill and refused to return it. We contacted the Palm Coast Sheriff Department and have filed a Police Report. We have tried contacting the Moving Company almost weekly since this incident (Feb 2011) and have received no response. We have sent the insurance claim to their offices multiple times only to have the mail returned as unknown.
