Movers were to move my residence on Dec.16 at 10am. I was called earlier in the week to change the appointment time from 10 am to noon for the same day. On Dec.16 at 1pm I contacted the moving company and was given the contact information for person to call in Calgary. During this conversation was told that there was a mistake in the system and that the move time was actually updated to 2pm. This is now 4 hours after the agreed time and two hours longer than I accepted the previous week. Once I contacted the person moving my possessions, he said that they were having an issue with the person that was before me and that he would not be there until 4. 6 hours later. He also then confirmed the address in which he was meeting me and they had mixed up the pickup and delivery address so during rush hour had to drive to the other end of the city. Once the movers got there (they did add an additional person to make up time lost) the moving van that they rented had very bald tires. The were stuck in the middle of the street for about half an hour. at about 10 pm, the movers arrived at my new address where tired, as this was a very long day for them, they brought most items only to the door and didn’t want to take anything that they didn’t have to any further. The larger items they struggled with, and in the new house damaged the walls. They also broke an armoire. Once I went back to the "pick up residence" I not only had a huge mess to clean- they didn’t take shoes off during the move, had all stairwell walls damaged as well as a full truck load of items that didn’t get put in the van. I contacted the lead person who originally arranged the move who said that he would credit me $100.00. It took me longer to move the rest of the items and clean their mess, but at this point I agreed to that. I have contacted IML three times in regards to the refund and I still have not received it. I would never recommend this moving service.. Terrible.
