Didn't know how good we had it - Moving Review

This long-overdue review was prompted by a recent move with another company.

Graebel moved my wife and I to Washington four years ago. And my only complaint about them is that they would not move us back to Minnesota a few months ago because we lived in an area of the state they didn't pick up from.

So instead we went with United, and it was a nightmare.

GRAEBEL: Broke one thing, and the driver paid for it out of pocket so a damage claim would not go on his record.
UNITED: Damaged eight pieces of high-end furniture, two smaller items and a wall in our new home, along with countless other items, denied causing some of the damage, then told us to fill out a damage report (without apologizing or seeming to care in the slightest).

GRAEBEL: Gave us an exact pickup day and a three-day delivery window, then picked up on the day they said they would and delivered on the first day of their three-day window.
UNITED: Gave us a five-day pickup window and a weeklong delivery window (with no mention of the possibility of our belongings sitting in storage for a week or being loaded/unloaded multiple times), then delivered on the final day of their window after our stuff sat in storage for a week.

GRAEBEL: Called us frequently to make sure the move was going smoothly and supplied us with contact info for our driver.
UNITED: Answered the phone when we called, and sometimes even got back to us with answers to our questions the same day.

GRAEBEL: Put stuff where we asked them to.
UNITED: Stacked boxes in the middle of my living room so I could sort them myself.

GRAEBEL: Next time I move, I'll call them.
UNITED: I am telling everyone I know my United horror story.
