This company is dishonest, rude, and mean. My initial quote was fine and the movers showed up on time -
I had to find a permanent address, so my belongings would be in storage until I found a place. I was told that if I gave them 2 weeks notice of my requested delivery, I would be able to have my items delivered when I needed them.
However - the cost upon pick up was twice the quote. I was given a 10% discount, but told that only applied to the original quote - not the actual price.
On July 2, I contacted the company to request delivery between 8/1 and 8/5 - preferably 8/4. I received now reply. When I followed up I was told the driver would contact me closer to delivery.
I provided information that my job does not allow me to be available during working hours on most days - so that my availability was limited. I had to go out of town for several days and would not be available those days in August. Silence.
Over the next 5 weeks, I attempted to get information on an almost daily basis and was told - after I involved the insurance company I had engaged - that they would get my items to me at some point. I was never given any customer service and had to finally threaten to contact the Brooklyn police regarding my items being stolen since they would not provide information on the delivery. I updated my availability on an ongoing basis to ensure that they could coordinate approriately.
I had to move into my new home and camp on the floor for 2 weeks - I am 52 years old.
Finally, I was given a phone number of a driver. I had difficulty understanding him due to a heavy accent. When I requested assistance - I was yelled at and told he spoke english and if I cound not understand him that was my problem.
I received 10 phone calls during one hour in the middle of the work day stating that if I did not contact the moving company immediately they would return my items to storage. I was in a meeting. When I called back - I was told that I had to accept delivery the next day - in the middle of my work day. The one day I had given them that week that I could not be available.
I was able to get home for the delivery -payment was demanded before the one person would even open the truck. I refused based upon the difficulty in getting any information over several weeks. I was yelled at and threatened.
I had the police come to witness my providing the cash and the driver demanded that I sign that I had received the items prior to opening the truck - the police convinced him that would not happen until the items had been unloaded and accounted for. I was very frightened. The driver was leering and using very aggressive body language. I was in tears.
No one ever came to assist in the unloading.
I did receive all my items -but the boxes were upside down, smashed and torn. Some items were damaged, and clear tape had been used on some of the items and destroyed the finish.
Don't use them - they are very unprofessional expensive and disrespectful of their customers and their belongings.
