This was the first time I was hiring a mover and, I thought, it does help to be upfront and honest about how much stuff I have and how many stairs so that they can accurately estimate the moving time and people.
These guys are great, and well worth it. They navigated couches, tables, dressers, etc. down six flights of narrow stairs, with NO damage to our stuff or to the hallway. They also took care to avoid damage to the hardwood floors in both the old and new homes. They were quick and hard-working, and friendly. In many cases, they were jogging up the stairs when they were going to get more boxes.
Now that’s what I call professional.
