Horrible Cross Country Move - Moving Review

This was the worst moving experience I have ever had. I called to get a "binding" quote mid-February, and was told my total would be $2568.80. I had a few other quotes, and this was not the cheapest or the most expensive, and after I saw some good reviews about this company, I thought we would be okay with our cross country move. I was told that we would be charged by the number of boxes we had, and my price would only change if we went over what I already quoted as having (approximately 100). Moving day came, and two skeevy looking guys from Jersey show up with an unmarked truck. The lead in charge guy does a quick walk through and says my total move will cost $3700 instead of the $2500 I was quoted. I asked him what he was talking about, and he said they go according to weight. I said that was not what I was told, and we went back and forth for a few minutes about the cost. I asked him how he would know my items weighed 7000lbs, and he said 'sperience'. I was getting on a plane in two days to fly to AZ and did not have time to book a new company, so I said I would talk to the moving company and to just pack my stuff. They took forever to do it, tracked dirt in and out of my apartment, and were rude the whole time. They used a lot of tape, even wrapped plastic storage boxes that had locking lids, and I wondered why they were doing that. Surprise! They charge for tape as well. As they were leaving, I asked when my stuff would arrive in my new location. They said it would be loaded on a truck the next day, and I should have it within 7 to 10 days. That was also incorrect. My stuff sat in a warehouse in Jersey somewhere for three weeks before it started making it's way across the country. After almost a month, my stuff finally arrived, at 6am on a Sunday. Annoyed, but excited to get my stuff, the movers who unloaded my stuff were great! They were personable, nice, and very accomodating. When I unpacked my things, I found a few items broken and a few items were missing. I have been trying since March to get a hold of someone to file a claim with no luck. I also tried to get a credit for waiting for a month for my things, after several people told me "anyday now". I do not recommend these people at all. Tomorrow is the last day before I file a dispute for the initial deposit I paid.
