Horrible Experience - Moving Review

I hired Alex NW b/c it seemed that they would take care of my items, provided a detailed quote and no poor reviews online. Movers showed well over 1-1/2 hours late b/c 1 of 2 trucks we contracted for broke. Only 5 of 6 moving showed w/o explanation. Head mover came & said we only need 1 truck, which I was displeased. They jammed everything in 1 truck, having to pull stuff out and re-organize. Many pieces arrived damaged, even though they put pad on the furniture, but they were packed so tightly, then the furniture was rubbing against each other and the truck. Even when they brought the furniture in, I inspected it and then they proceeded to further damage some wood pieces on the top part of the couches. We filed ins. claim for about $1,400 b/c that was all the ins. would cover (our mistake for not paying for top coverage). The move was to only take 9 hours or so - took over 14 hours! Since they were late, they did not leave until after 12:30am! My 3 year old's bed was the last thing they did, meaning she was in bed at 12:45am!!! After unpacking everything finally, we have discovered missing items - bed quilt, part of our gym machine (now unusable), potted plants,... Apparently, a family member now remembers seeing the movers pack some of the last items in the storage, on the underside of the truck (where the ramps are usually stored). When I did the walk-through of the truck on moving day at 12:30 am, no one had a flashlight, but I didn't see anything else by the moonlight but they did not show me the underside storage area, as we are now sure that is where are missing items are. Of course, no one dropped off the items and it's too late to claim those items, plus I unwittingly signed off that I had everything. It is a real shame b/c Alex and the movers were very nice men, but it was a truly upsetting experience and I have never had such a horrible move. I have never had to even so much as put in a claim for damage to my items on prior moves, so this was completely shocking. If you value your possessions at all, do not use this moving company.
