Horrible Movers, Liars! - Moving Review

I should have read the review before mine before I used this company because it is EXACTLY how my experience went. The young man, Elves, came over to do an estimate. He quoted me a price of $623 which seemed very reasonable. He told me there would be "No Surpirses" and that everything he quoted me had been included.

On moving day, the guys arrived about 30 min early. I was flustered and caught off guard. They re-taped stuff which was already taped/secure. They took a long time getting my couch/bed out as well. It seemed like they were wasting time and I beleieve the foreman had them go slow on purpose.

They finally arrived at my new apartment and the foreman shows me paperwork that has a price of $818! I asked what happened to the $623? They added packing costs, an extra 1 1/2 hours of work etc and would not move until I paid. I should have paid by CC then cancelled the charge, but I was stupid and paid cash to avoid the 3.5% fee.

I called Elves to complain but he wanted to hear none of it. They even broke a part of my dresser and claimed it was broken before, even though my wife saw them break it!

In the end, I filed a complaint with the BBB and will most likely take these guys to small claims court. Do yourself a favor and either move yourself or use a more reputable moving company. These guys are con artists.
