after filling out the on-line inventory form, the quote seemed very reasonable. the salesperson was professional (if a bit pushy) and very reassuring about all of my concerns.
the driver called to see if he could pick up my things early, promising a one week delivery time. i agreed. when they finished loading the truck, they explained that my "new" quote was nearly double the quote i had received online. this is because they measured by cubic feet and the online form gives an extreme lowball estimate so they can lure you in. once they've loaded all of your things they spring the real price on you. i was extremely upset at this and contacted the company to complain. the company assured me they would work with me and after two weeks of run around (during which my belongings still had not shown up- no updated delivery date was provided), i was given a discounted price. still a thousand dollars more than the original quote, but it eased my mind. little did i know what was to follow.
after i called several times to request an estimated delivery date, i FINALLY got a date (10 days after the originally promised delivery date). three days after THAT, my things arrived.
every one of my cardboard boxes was crushed or had holes in it. most of my plastic bins were also crushed. my box spring had holes in it, my end tables had burst through the veneer due to extreme humidity during storage. my persian carpet had a huge crease in it. my hand carved balinese statue (that THEY packed) was broken into pieces. the hand blown glass vases my grandmother gave me were shattered. my china and crystal, all packed in the original boxes, were chipped and broken. my lamp shades were crushed.
and the driver was completely unconcerned. he said it wasn't his problem and told me that this company had changed their name several times to escape the trail of customer complaints against them. the driver drove off with some of my items on the truck and refused to return to drop them off, saying he'd "send me a check".
i documented the damage on the invoice as well as via photographs emailed to the company. still waiting on a response. funny that they had time to call me several times a day to get my business, but can't find the time to resolve my issues.
avoid these guys like the plague. search on their address and DOT number in case they change their name again.
