Missing items & damaged goods - Moving Review

Allied was recommended to me by a family friend who had a good moving experience with them in the past. Until my items were delivered to my house, I would have agreed with his assessment of the moving company. The coordinator who initially came to my home to give me an estimate was friendly, though slightly unprofessional. A third party was paying for the move and we had quite a bit of confusion and delay while the moving coordinator figured out how to process the payment.

My items (mostly) arrived on time and the driver was very good at communicating where he was on the journey and when I could expect my delivery. However, after my things were dropped off, I noticed multiple damaged things, including a book case which the movers must have noticed was damaged when they carried it in, yet never mentioned. 2 items never arrived.

I called the number given to me by the driver to report my missing items and was told that they were, in fact, on the truck and since the driver would be passing back through my area that weekend, he would contact me and drop them off. It is now 3 weeks and at least 6 phone calls later, and not only do I still not have my missing belongings, but no one from Allied has ever returned a phone call.

After endless frustration with the California office, I finally called the national office this morning where the customer service agent told me the driver will UPS my items to my house. There have been no apologies and no effort on the part of Allied to inform me about what is going on. This is appalling customer service, especially considering the high price of the move and Allied's supposed superior service, and I will NEVER recommend Allied or use them again for a move.
