Review on Neighbors Moving and Storage

Rating: 1 Star Moving Rating , Posted by on

I moved from Colorado Springs, Colorado to Cocoa Beach, Florida. August 3, 2008, Neighbors Moving & Storage in Colorado Springs (contact: Jeff Golden 1-800-431-1939 X404; Brian Elias 719-635-4382; reference number V353601) loaded my household belongings onto their truck. All items were marked with yellow tape labeled CC1588 series. The agreed-upon move price was $2,332.08, which I paid to Neighbors with a credit card. I planned to go to Cocoa Beach, find a job, rent an apartment, and call Neighbors with the apartment address for the delivery of my household belongings. At the time they loaded my items, the moving crew said that since I didn't have a "deliver to" address yet, Neighbors would store my belongings in a warehouse in Colorado Springs, and when I secured an apartment, I should call Neighbors and they would move my items from Colorado Springs to Cocoa Beach.

I drove to Cocoa Beach, arrived on August 6, and began looking for a job. Around mid-August, I spoke with someone from Neighbors, and informed them that I still didn't have an apartment yet. I was told, "No problem, we'll hold your items for you until you find a place. If we store your things longer than one month, we may have to charge you $125 monthly for storage."

I began working as a teacher on September 5, 2008, and immediately secured an apartment. I called Neighbors to schedule delivery of my items, and was informed that my items had been moved from Colorado Springs to Orlando, Florida. I called Ray in Orlando (407-857-1995) and we scheduled delivery of my items on Saturday, September 13. On Friday, September 12, the day before my items were to be delivered to my new apartment, Ray called me to say I would owe him an additional $900 upon delivery. I told him that I had already paid for the move, and that Neighbors had said the monthly storage was $125 per month. He refused to deliver my items until I agreed to pay him $900. I finally agreed to give him an additional $500, and we scheduled my delivery on Monday, September 15, 2008.

Neighbors delivered most of my items. However, there are a number of items that they did not deliver (RARE ARTWORK, flat-screen TV, photo printer, DVD recorder/player, DVDs, tool box, framed art, table top, hair appliances, etc.). I have called Ray in Orlando and Brian in Colorado Springs, and they are unable to locate the missing items.
