Respectfully, the response from Statewide is false. This is a copy from my email to Jim Alexander:
Hello Jim,
I'm awaiting word on an apartment in phoenix, should know in the next couple of days.
I noticed that the pickup date is the 15th or 16th when will we know exactly which day so we can plan.
Hope you are well.
Patrick
Response from Jim:
HI PATRICK,
WAY TOO EARLY NOW. CALL ME A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE 15TH AND I WILL KNOW. JUST KEEP BOTH THOSE DAYS OPEN. FOR NOW JUST ASSUME IT WILL BE THE 15TH AND IF WE HAVE TO WE WILL USE THE 16TH.
SINCERELY,
JIM ALEXANDER
So if you read this email you will see that I am quite the co-operative customer. I was told that the pickup would happen on either the 15th or 16th and to keep those days open, they were on a Monday and Tuesday. I did call Jim the week before and he told me Jon would be calling me.
On Friday the 12th Jon called me and said they would be there tomorrow (saturday) the 13th. So it was never told to me to be ready for the 13th, that is false. What if I hadn't packed already?
So I gave statewide the two days they requested (15th and 16th) and anyone that is looking into their service you are welcomed to contact me and I will forward you the original emails with the timestamps so you know they are genuine.
The fact is that Statewide messed up by coming earlier than they originally said, that cost me money in having to cancel my vacation last minute and I'm upset because they will not simply acknowledge that in the review. I was never offered a refund of my deposit either. It was a straight take it or leave it proposition. And they were late the day they came, they said they would be there by eleven am, came in the afternoon. So they were two days early and hours late at the same time.
In regards to drop off dates, my complaint was that I had to keep calling them to find out when the shipment was coming, they did not inform me an estimate, as a matter of fact this is the first that I've heard about a customer coming from India causing a delay, would have been nice for a simple courtesy call to me to let me know. I did call multiple times so perhaps they could have mentioned this, i would have understood.
My point is this, there is good service and there is bad service and as much as the move was cheap I would prefer to work with another moving company in the future that A) Treats customers with care B) doesnt come earlier than expected and if they do gives more than a night's before notice and C) when things go wrong take responsibility, call the customer, apologize, and then call them with accurate information not something that they might want to hear.
So thank you statewide for the low cost but in the future I'll take my money to a more expensive option that has a review page that is more positive.
It's clear I made the bad choice in choosing them and most of the customers on this page and other review sites agree.
I'm currently discussing with my lawyer what action I can take on some of my damaged and missing items.
By the way, I'm an exec for a reputable company and if anyone ever posted something negative on my blog I wouldn't put the customer in a corner, instead I would reach out to them and try to remedy the situation so perhaps I can make them happy and have their business in the future.
Statewide, one unhappy customer can turn to hundreds through word of mouth, why haven't you reach out to me to remedy this? Rather, you have posted untruths.

Official company response to Patrick OKeefe's review:
We explained to him that he had to give us at least 3 days to do the pick up and then we would select one of the days for the PICK UP DATE. He only gave us one day, which is not enough for movers. The month he moved is August , which traditionally is the busiest month of the whole year for movers. The reason for this is that the kids are going back to school, and college students are also going back to school and need to move by September when school starts. WE usually ask for 3 days to put aside for the move and then select 1 of the days for the move. We informed the customer that we HAD ANOTHER TRUCK REROUTED TO HIM AND could pick him up earlier or else we could gladly refund his deposit. He opted to let us pick him up earlier. WE did so, and we picked him up earlier. Now what this customer does not understand, and this is the way it is in the whole industry for all the movers, is that at the time of the delivery it is impossible to determine the "EXACT" DATE OF THE DELIVERY. NO LEGIT MOVING COMPANY WILL EVER GUARANTEE A DELIVERY DATE BECAUSE WE ARE DELIVERING TO MANY OTHER CUSTOMERS. ALL MOVING COMPANIES PUT ABOUT 5 TO 10 CUSTOMERS ON THE BIG SEMI TRACTOR TRAILERS, SO WE APPROXIMATE BEST WE CAN WHEN THE DELIVERY DATE WILL BE. And this is because customers want the lowest possible prices / AND IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT IN SOME CASES, CUSTOMERS ALSO DELAY THE DELIVERY PROCESS. IN THIS CASE WE HAD A GENTLEMAN FROM INDIA WHO WAS SUPPOSED TO FLY IN FOR HIS DELIVERY BUT HE GOT DELAYED AND WE COULD NOT DELIVER UNTIL THE NEXT DAY DUE TO HIS SCHEDULING CONFLICTS. SO AS YOU CAN SEE THERE IS NO EXACT WAY ANY MOVING COMPANY CAN GUARANTEE A DELIVERY DATE. YOU ACTUALLY COULD BUT moving companies WOULD CHARGE YOU ABOUT $1000 TO $1500 FOR THAT SERVICE. We did have a slight problem with the truck, but the driver had the truck serviced and did the deliveries immediately after he got back the truck.
