Stay Away - Moving Review

I had move from Dayton to Atlanta and made a bad choice in picking this company. My trouble started the moment I signed the contract and paid the deposit amount. These guys do not care after that. Had to call them a couple of dozen times to fix the move from Dayton. They outsource the actual movement to a different company. So you are never going to get any sort of response from American Van Lines. These guys have the gumption to tell the customer to directly contact the moving company when contacted. So I had to basically keep calling and coordinating between these two companies to facilitate the pick up. I thought I could be at peace once the pick up was successfully done. But no these guys started troubling me the moment my household items reached Atlanta. The sales rep whilst signing the contract, clearly said that they have a delivery window  and I could ask these guys to deliver at any time within the delivery window, which was for a week, and hence I decided to push my items first and then I had to relocate to Atlanta. So in effect I planned for my goods to reach first and then I followed. The goods reached within two days and I got a call from the moving company demanding me to take delivery when I was still winding up in Dayton. I had to explain them and then had to repeat the story to American van lines that I was still in Dayton and cant accept delivery. I also told them what i was infromed that i had the choice to accept delivery anytime within the actual delivery window. It all fell in deaf ears and I had to shell out 400 bucks more to put my items in storage. Once I reached Atlanta, which was well within the delivery window, I asked them to deliver and these guys took a week to deliver my items. All in all these guys are PATHETIC. They do not care once you pay. So stay away to avoid a terrible experince!
