I should have known when I received a phone call that the movers where going to be over an hour late from my scheduled apt that my experience was going to be HORRIBLE. When the gentleman arrived I was optimistic until I spelled alcohol on one of the movers who claimed he had the flu and a backup was on his way. The moving started quickly; however, after watching one of the movers act carelessly we asked him if he could be a little more careful with our furniture as he had damaged trim work in two locations. His response was unprofessional. He would not stop making excuses, rude comments, and them apologizing for his behavior. He was acting like he was drunk! After an hour of the verbal abuse we called the company to ask about the backup and the real trouble began. We were told that there was no back up, he was not sick and we were being too picky that things will get damaged in a move. The drama continued with lies, yelling, and eventually a non Royal Movers employee came to relieve the employee who was acting out of control. In retrospect I wish I would have called the police to have him removed from our property. We had all of our belongings unpacked in our garage/drive way and as we were unpacking we had three damaged pieces of furniture. The company was very disrespectful with yelling and accusing of us wanting a free move. The unprofessionalism and lack of accountability with this company is shameful. I wish I would have read the poor reviews prior to my experience. I would have rather rented my own truck and done the move on my own then spend the money on this company.
