First started with a promise of a pick up on Sat. They called friday to inform me that they couldn't do it til Sunday (EASTER!)
When I booked the trip I told them that the weight was less than 2000lbs- it was the same things I moved down there so I knew for a fact what it weighed from the other movers. AFTER things were picked up they informed me at delivery that it was much more than Dennis told me because it was booked with a company that had a 3000lb minimum so I "had to pay or not get your stuff" !! They gave me slips that showed the weights but I know for a fact that the weight was counting the other load (someone elses household stuff) that was all ready on the truck when they came to get mine. They even refused to let me meet them at the weight station on the way here!! Humm wonder why???!! ONE person showed up to deliver things. I witnessed many dropped totes and even my Mom's electric wheel chair! They had "boxed up" MANY items, so I could not see what was delivered until later that day when I returned to the storage place> After we un-boxed everything I realized my 1800.00 imac computer and ipad were stolen. I called the company right away and she told me to give them a day or so to track the items down, "THEY PROBABLY GOT LEFT ON THE TRUCK"...several days went by-did not hear from them! The next person told me to submit a claim and they would submit it for re-embursement and was actually asked to wait for resulution before I posted anything negitive on line! I also had almost all my china broken (WAS WELL PACKED!) and a 26inch LCD TV screen was broken.
I heard back from Joanne at colonial who told me that they were going to re-embuse me $64.00- ???!!! Are you serious?? Yes, .60 cents per lb of stolen items was all they were going to offer and she said I should have called the cops when I knew the stuff was missing! Why not tell me that right off? (Because they didn't want me to I'm sure!) She said I should have bought the full protection insurance and because I didn't I was "out of luck!" I guess because I didn't but it,it was ok for them to steal stuff from a disabled person who depended on those items!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!
