My job was supposed to be transferred from NM to CA so I checked on the internet for moving quotes. Shortly after that I received a call from James Nullmeyer from United States van lines. He quoted me around $2766.21 for my move with a $1314.33 deposit. It sure sounded good and I went ahead and looked in the price signed some paperwork he emailed to me and I gave him my credit card for the deposit. That afternoon when I went to work I was told that my move had been put on hold. I got on the phone right away to call James to cancel . Imagine my surprise when he told me that I was not getting my $1314.33 deposit back. His explanation was that I was within five days of my supposed move date. I told James that I had literary signed the papers three or four hours ago. He claimed that it not matter and said that a supervisor would call me back shortly. Well needless to say that did not happen either. I then researched this company on line oh boy what a shocker . I tried to call the company and James back countless times with little success. Finally I contacted the BBB in Florida the home state of this company and the Attorney Generals office which then referred me to the Department of Transportation. The DOT explained to me that I was well in the legal time frame to cancel my move and here is why: the company did not make me sign a contract only am order for service. There screw up which gave me a three day window of cancellation. Never the lees I had to almost wait a month and go round and round with Sam Parker a so called supervisor to get my refund. These people call them self relocation specialist there far from it as a matter affect there no specialist nor are there professorial s in any way shape or form. There will also tell you that there are members of the BBB which in fact is not true as a matter of fact there have about a hundred complaints against them for this year alone. So no matter what your problem with USVL is do not give up and just hand them your hard earned money fight them every way like we did contact the BBB, AG office and the DOT there are all well aware of these people and there business practice and please do your research on any company you gonna use for your move don't be scammed like me and so many others. We are the few lucky ones who got our money back.
