worst company ever - Moving Review

ASAP Moving System, based in Rockville, Maryland, is absolutely the worst company I’ve ever done business with for any reason in my entire life.  When the company called to provide an estimate, I was quoted x amount. They said I needed to pay a deposit over the phone by debit or credit card.  I did that. They then emailed an estimate for x amount plus about $400.  I called to ask about the discrepancy and was told I was never quoted x amount and must have misheard. He told me I needed to have a cashier’s check, money order or cash in the amount of x plus $400 when the movers arrived to load my things. Then when the movers that arrived said they needed to charge a credit or debit card for a percentage of the total due.  I asked them to take the cashier’s check and they refused.  I told them that in that case I would need to visit my bank to have the cashier’s check cancelled before I’d have the amount of money in my account they intended to charge by debit card.  I explained they should allow a day for this to be done. The movers indicated that they understood and this was okay. Then they called me a few hours later complaining that the card had been declined. The movers were supposed to arrive to load my things at 8 a.m.  They were late, so I tried to call to see what was happening. The person in the office was rude to me and said I needed to call “dispatch” rather than the office. He gave me the number for dispatch. When I called that number, a person answered the phone gruffly with “hello” and gave no indication I was calling ASAP Moving System. He gruffly said they were on their way to load my stuff.  They arrived two hours late at 10 a.m. The company then called to say they would deliver on a Saturday at about 6:30 p.m. They called again to say they would be there at 8 a.m. Sunday.  They called another time to ask if they could come at 7:30 a.m.  I said that was fine.  They called at 7:30 a.m. to say they were “running late” due to road conditions. I asked what time they would arrive.  They said 3 p.m.  At 3:30 p.m., I called the dispatch number and left a voicemail.  I called the number I had for the office and the person I spoke with indicated I was bothering him because it was his day off.  I finally received a call and they said they would arrive between 6:30 and 7 p.m. because they’d had some “minor delays.” Then they called and said they would be there at 7:30 p.m. At 7:45 p.m.Again they called to ask me how to get their 18-wheeler truck up to my door.  My new place is a standard apartment complex with a series of apartment buildings, paved drives and parking lots laid out in a fashion very typical for most apartment complexes in the United States.  I told them I know nothing about driving 18-wheeler trucks.  They came to my door and the guy said they could not figure out how to access my complex with their truck.  Finally, they parked the truck outside of the complex and walked it inside.  They started unloading at 9 p.m. They tried to charge me extra for the additional distance they walked to my door, but took the charge off when I inquired about it and mentioned the word “lawyer.”  Seriously, even your standard horrible company is nothing compared to this one.
