WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD - Moving Review

First of all, I've moved 23 times in my life.  So when I say the worst moving experience I've ever had, that's saying a lot.  The sales rep (Brooke) at Great American promised me my quote was based on weight and that the truck would be weighed.  But when the subcontractors (Allstate Van Lines) showed up -- two days late, at 10PM on a Friday -- the team leader told me that it would be impossible to weigh, since there was another load on the truck.  So he "estimated" that I was 400 cubic feet over my allotment (even though my estimate was based on weight) and they wouldn't start packing until I paid the extra $1000.  Since I had a plane ticket for the next day (I missed the flight, cost me another $500, because they didn't finish packing/loading until after 2PM on Saturday) I didn't have time to argue.   Need more evdience to support my rating?  They also showed up without any packing materials.  So I had to go out and buy them.   On the other end, they delivered four weeks late.   I can't say this strongly enough: if you use Great American Van Lines, which is not the same as Great American Moving and Storage, you will be sorry.
