How can I calculate for myself the movers prices for long distance moves? Is there a formula or approximation how to do that? Thanks.

Hey Sue, when contacting your long distance movers, ask for in-house cost estimate. Mind that for long distance moves, moving companies charge per lbs.

Thank you guys. How nice of you! Great resources, Martin. One more thing, I am moving from Chicago to Boston due to a job opportunity. How much should i expect from long distance movers to charge me for this move – we are talking about 3 bedroom house?

Hi Sue! For a long distance moving like from Chicago to Boston you can expect to pay on an average about $8600 for moving a 3 bedroom house. Good luck with your moving!
